News from ECG
Istanbul, 4 June 2026
“The rapid growth of electric vehicles presents major opportunities, but the long-term success of the industry will depend on balancing innovation, competitiveness, energy security and geopolitical risks.” The newly elected President of ECG, Mark Hindley, combined seriousness with hopefulness in his opening speech of the General Assembly & Spring Congress 2026, held in Istanbul, Türkiye.
The FVL industry stands at a pivotal moment within a rapidly evolving global automotive landscape, marked by the acceleration of electric vehicle adoption, China´s rise as a manufacturing and technology powerhouse, and ongoing geopolitical and supply chain uncertainties that are reshaping the industry on an unprecedented scale.
“Challenges such as rising fuel costs, capacity constraints, shifting OEM dynamics, and the urgent need for sustainability and skilled talent require us to be more adaptive and innovative than ever before.” Mark Hindley stated.
The challenges open new opportunities for growth, collaboration, and leadership.
“By embracing change, investing in our people, leveraging global partnerships, and proactively addressing industry shifts, we can not only navigate today´s complexities, but also drive FVL toward a future that is more resilient, competitive, and sustainable.” Hindley explained.
