The latest Maritime & Ports Working Group Meeting took place on 28/29 June 2023, kindly hosted by The Bristol Port Company. ECG Members and Partners gathered in Bristol for the second meeting of the year.

On 28 June 2023, participants had the opportunity to meet in an informal environment during the networking dinner. The meeting took place on 29 June 2023 with a very engaging agenda and excellent speakers.

After the presentation that was given by Brian Steeds on The Bristol Port Company and its main activities, participants had the chance to visit Royal Portbury Docks and Avonmouth. The Chairman of the Working Group, Oliver Fuhljahn, opened the meeting and welcomed all attendees. Jan Fransen, Executive Director of the Green Award, gave an overview of the foundation’s work and next steps after which Namrita Chow, ECG Business Analyst, presented the main figures on finished vehicle exports from China. The meeting was very productive and participants engaged in an interactive discussion on many topics that were raised during the round table discussion including the Ukraine crisis, congestion issues and the ongoing capacity crisis.

Mike Sturgeon, ECG Executive Director, gave an update on ECG activities and 2023 strategic objectives. These objectives include the recently published revision of the FVL forecast methodology, the Q4 2022 update on the FVL cost index and the emission reporting project. Other ECG activities concerned active Working Groups, future ECG events and ECG Academy Course 17.

The venue and the date for the next Maritime & Ports meeting will be determined in due course. All details will be available on our website. For more information about this group contact Jovana Vancevska.
