News from ECG

On Friday, 2023 May 5, 12:00-13:00 (CEST) ECG will present the yearly analysis of the incident reports we have received: ‘’Making the industry safer – Reducing accidents in FVL, analysis of 2021 and 2022 incidents’’.

ECG members, and non-member companies who are responsible for car transporter operations, can register via this link.

The agenda for the webinar includes an introduction to the ECG Health & Safety Working Group (H&S WG), an overview of 2021/2022 incidents and key recommendations.

The H&S WG established an incident reporting website in 2018 to gather information on severe accidents and near-misses happening in finished vehicle logistics (FVL) during loading and unloading in truck operations. The aim of the website is to create a database of incidents which can be analysed and used to share insightful information in order to contribute to the safety of drivers and a safer industry in general.

Previously, the website was hosted in Ukraine and due to the war it stopped working. In 2022 October, ECG re-launched the website where all operators could once again upload incidents for 2021 and 2022 which is why, this time, the report will span 2 years.

Since 2019 ECG has published yearly reports with the analysis of the most common incidents in the industry and with the key recommendations on how to prevent them. Full reports are available on our website.

Only by sharing we can learn together as an industry!
