Over the next two years, Geely wants to launch seven new premium electric cars under its new sub-brand Galaxy. That includes four long-range hybrids and three battery-electric vehicles. The first three models will hit the read before the end of the year.
First up is the Geely Galaxy L7 SUV, a plug-in hybrid. It has a top speed of 200 kph and can go from zero to 100 kph in 7.5 seconds. Consumption has been tested at 5.23 litres per 100 kilometres. Pre-sales are already underway, and deliveries will begin in the second half of this year.
The L6 PHEV sedan will soon follow, with deliveries scheduled for Q3 of 2023. The first pure EV, the E8, will launch in Q4. There are already speculations that the latter could be the previously announced Galaxy Light concept. But Geely did not give any details, saying that technical details will follow closer to launch.
The new Geely series will have two model lines – L for plug-in hybrids and E for all-electric cars. The PHEVs are based on Geely and Volvo’s E-CMA platform, while the pure EVs will sit on the company’s SEA platform.
