The most recent Maritime & Ports Working Group Meeting was held on 9/10 November, hosted by ECG members Rhenus Cuxport, DFDS, and Mosolf. ECG Members and Partners convened in Cuxport for the final meeting of the year.

On November 9, participants enjoyed an informal networking dinner where they were warmly welcomed by the Lord Major of Cuxhaven, Uwe Santjer. The formal meeting took place on November 10, featuring a compelling agenda and distinguished speakers.

Oliver Fuhljahn, Chairman of the Working Group, opened the meeting, extending a welcome to all attendees. Masanori Nagashima, Senior Manager of Business Planning & Sustainability at UECC, provided insights into new EU and IMO regulations on the Emissions Trading System (ETS) and Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII), elucidating their impact on the maritime industry. The hosts then delivered a brief presentation on their activities.

The meeting proved highly productive, with participants actively engaging in discussions on various topics raised during the round table, including congestion issues and the capacity crisis.

Mike Sturgeon, ECG Executive Director, offered updates on ECG activities and the strategic objectives for 2023. These objectives encompass the recently revised FVL forecast methodology, the H1 2023 update on the FVL cost index, the publication of the Ro-Ro methodology and emissions reporting project. Other ECG activities covered ongoing activities within Working Groups, upcoming ECG events and the ECG Academy.

The forthcoming meeting is scheduled for Grimsby, UK, and further details will be available on our website closer to the event. For additional information about this group, please contact Jovana Vancevska.
