The Giovanni Paci Award is awarded each year to the top student in the ECG Academy.
Gjertsen and Christien wanted to share the award with the rest of the ECG Academy group.
”We all delivered and made a common effort to engage in the courses, paying attention to the different site visits. An added value of the ECG Academy, I would say is the perfect networking opportunity and exchanging on best practices”, said Guillaume Christien, Logistics Engineer at Toyota Motor Europe.
The ECG Academy offers the opportunity to work in a diverse group of people coming from many different countries and with diverse backgrounds: an excellent setting for networking and expanding knowledge in the finished vehicle logistics sector.
”The intercultural collaboration, the way of organising your project lab, and the project management skills we gained, that’s what I will take home”, said Kirsti Gjertsen, Segment Manager Automotive at Port of Antwerp-Bruges.
The ECG Academy’s Giovanni Paci Award for the best student is awarded every year since 2010 to honour and perpetuate the memory of Mr. Giovanni Paci for his contribution to the Association.
Mr. Paci passed away suddenly at a reasonably young age.
Costantino Baldissara, Commerial, Logistics & Operations Director of the Grimaldi Group:
”The Giovanni Paci Award was created to honour the memory of an exceptional person and professional. Giovanni was not only a brilliant journalist, but also a passionate and dedicated member of the ECG community. During his years as Head of Institutional and Media Relations for ECG, he worked tirelessly to promote the values of our association and to strengthen its voice across Europe”.
Mr. Baldissara continues:
”He believed in the power of communication, of people, and of ideas. That is why this award — given each year to the top student of the ECG Academy — carries his name. We hope it will continue to inspire the winners to pursue their careers with the same passion, curiosity, and integrity that Giovanni showed every day”.
Kirsti Gjertsen and Guillaume Christien recommend the ECG Academy course to anyone who wants to kick-start a career in automotive logistics.
