Digitrans & Hödlmayr – a sustainable collaboration

Hödlmayr is providing a new research truck equipped with numerous assistance systems. The truck is ready for modification to "drive by wire" as a first step. In a second step, a "drive Pilot" will be integrated, allowing highly automated driving at level 3. It was introduced at a press conference held at the Digitrans test track (proving ground) in St. Valentin. On this occasion, a new outdoor sprinkler system was presented.

For Hödlmayr, our CFO Robert Horvath was on-site: "Innovation has always been into Hödlmayr's DNA for many years. We want to use the new automated truck in various use cases in the area of freight transport and test the technologies in real-life applications. One example of this could be platooning. Thereby, several trucks are electronically networked into a single unit, braking and steering synchronously with the first vehicle. The trucks can drive close together and take advantage of the slipstream. This saves valuable fuel and CO2.  Moreover, it can increase the safety of drivers and supports them in their activities. Our valued drivers are and will remain the most critical pillar of our business."
