APPLY NOW TO BECOME THE BEST EUROPEAN TRUCK PARKING: APPLICATIONS ARE MOST WELCOME BY 31 DECEMBER 2025
ESPORG launches the 2026 edition of its Excellence in Truck Parking Award with a new Home Away from Home Award to reward excellence in ensuring driver wellbeing.
Today, ESPORG, the European Secure Truck Parking Organisation, with its public and private partners from the European Commission, the International Transport Forum (ITF), ACEA, IRU, CLECAT, ECG, ESC, UETR, DEKRA, ABVV-BTB, TRUCKERSLIFE, MOWIZZTRUCK, launch the call for candidates for its 2026 Excellence in Truck Parking Award, with the objective to promote safety, security, quality, connectivity and care in providing services to professional truck drivers when using safe and secure truck parking areas.
Next to its excellence in Green Parking Management Award, another new award category is launched this year, Home Away from Home, to reward truck parks with exceptional records in offering and sustaining professional drivers’ wellbeing.
The international jury will seek to reward candidates from all categories of parking areas – bronze, silver, gold and platinum - with the objective to award parking areas in any of the four categories.
The aim of the European Truck Parking Award is to promote excellence and to help spread good practices in view of improving security and quality of services offered by truck parking operators to professional truck drivers, and, by doing so, to enhance the attractiveness and appeal of the driver profession to an increasingly diverse and wider public, including young people and women, whilst at the same time improving truck parks green records and credentials.
Michael Nielsen, President of ESPORG, said: “We are pleased to launch this now fifth edition of the Award, by innovating and adding a fourth Excellence Award, focusing for the first time on drivers wellbeing, to contribute to resolutely improving our contribution to working conditions of professional lorry drivers across Europe.”
As a reminder, Recharge City, in Denmark, and mowiz Porta de Barcelona, in Spain, were voted European Truck Parkings of the Year 2025, respectively, in the category “Large parking areas” (above 50 places) and “Small parking areas” (up to 50 places), whilst mowiz Astigarraga, in Spain, was unanimously selected winner of the Green Truck Parking Management Award 2025.
Candidates can include small (up to 50 spaces) and large (more than 50 spaces) public and private truck parking areas, as well as intermodal logistics centers and road transport companies operating truck parking facilities. They must complete the application form available at https://truckparkingaward.eu/apply/ and submit it by December 31, 2025. The winners and runners-up will be unveiled at a public ceremony in Brussels in March 2026.
“We want to reward the abundance of excellence, which already exist in our business at all levels – bronze, silver, gold and platinum - and incentivise others to follow, get classified and hopefully awarded”, concluded Dirk Penasse, ESPORG’s General Manager.
