The Tesla fast chargers will be accessible to all electric cars and support Plug&Charge. These will not be Tesla Supercharger locations, which will be owned and operated by Tesla. Instead, the chargers will sport evpoint’s colours (white, green and blue) and will only “use Tesla’s industry leading technology,” as the EG Group writes in the press release. However, the company has not published a photo or rendering of the charging station.
The short press release does not mention details of the hardware itself. However, it is evident that it is the fourth generation of Tesla’s Supercharger, as this model has been optimised for charging different electric cars. For example, there is a longer cable that can reach the differently positioned charging ports – as all Teslas have the charging port at the rear left, the Superchargers up to the V3 only had very short cables that were optimised precisely for this purpose. The V4 also has a display and an ad-hoc payment option, which Tesla did not have before.
According to the EG Group, it operates more than 600 charging stations at 189 locations under the evpoint brand and plans to expand to over 20,000 stations at around 3,600 locations. The installation of Tesla hardware at evpoint is set to begin this year.

This deal will accelerate the delivery of vital charging infrastructure for motorists to help power the transition to Net Zero.”

BP recently ordered $100 m worth of Supercharger hardware, including CCS adapters, for deployment in the US. It includes the V4 Supercharger in the blue and white BP pulse design.
