ECG will hold a pivotal training event for members focused on sustainability and carbon emissions accounting for Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL). Scheduled for November 19-20 in Brussels, this training is poised to be a significant milestone for those seeking to enhance their understanding of emissions calculation and reporting in the FVL sector. The training aims to support ECG members in their decarbonization efforts by implementing the ECG-VDA sector-specific emissions calculation and reporting methodology. As the logistics industry faces increasing pressure to adopt sustainable practices, this training offers a timely and invaluable opportunity for industry professionals interested in using the guideline, sustainability managers and those responsible for the calculation and reporting of emissions in FVL, operations and IT representatives, as well as customer-facing commercial and sales managers.

The training will be in Brussels at an airport hotel with the following schedule:

Day 1: November 19, 12:00 – 18:00 CEST (light lunch and dinner included)

Day 2: November 20, 9:00 – 13:00 CEST (light lunch included)

A room block will be arranged and booking details will be communicated in due course.

Training objectives

The primary goal of this training is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to accurately calculate and report emissions from their operations. By adhering to the ECG-VDA methodology, attendees will be well-equipped to drive their organizations' sustainability initiatives forward.

Day 1

You will understand and learn about:

  • Basic approaches of the ECG-VDA calculation and reporting guideline
  • Roles and responsibilities of LSPs and clients
  • Motivation for calculating and reporting emissions
  • Expected changes due to implementing this guideline
  • Success factors for the implementation

DAY 2

You will deep dive into:

  • Case-studies displaying the whole calculation and reporting method (separate sessions by mode: road, rail, Ro-Ro)
  • Development of action and decision-making competencies
  • Methods to apply the acquired knowledge and implement the guideline
