One of the most comprehensive snapshots of industry action towards shipping decarbonisation was published today.
The Getting to Zero Coalition Action Framework: Documenting actions towards decarbonising shipping report, published by the Global Maritime Forum’s Getting to Zero Coalition—a powerful alliance of over 200 organisations across maritime, energy, infrastructure and finance—assesses and scores progress across 26 critical actions needed to deliver the International Maritime Organization’s target of full decarbonisation of the shipping industry by 2050.
Seventy-six major companies across the industry value chain reported progress across 26 actions. These were grouped into five major categories with progress scored as a percentage:
Each action includes a ‘spotlight on best practices’, showcasing trailblazing case studies that are excelling across each part of the value chain.
This report serves as a key accountability and benchmarking tool, enabling stakeholders to identify barriers, scale solutions, and catalyse faster progress toward a zero-emission future for global shipping.
