Vehicle logistics expert Hödlmayr is taking another important step in its sustainability strategy. On January 9, 2025, the automotive experts from Mühlviertel will put Austria's first e-truck for car transport into operation. The vehicle will be used in a shuttle service between the Magna plant and the Hödlmayr site in Graz.

The project was preceded by extensive preparatory work. The route had to be analysed and calculated in order to ensure optimum operation with appropriate charging breaks. The vehicle has a range of around 300 kilometres. To ensure the best possible utilisation, the e-truck is charged for one hour during a break between production shifts and the batteries are fully charged overnight. The fast charging station required for this was set up at the Hödlmayr site.

Sustainability needs cooperation

The close cooperation of all project partners involved was a decisive success factor for the realization. “The values of cooperation and teamwork guide our daily work at Hödlmayr. This project has once again shown that we can also rely on our partners. I would like to thank Daimler Trucks, the superstructure manufacturer Kässbohrer and the charging infrastructure provider Siemens for their successful collaboration. Together, we have taken an important first step towards sustainable vehicle logistics,” explains CEO Johannes Alexander Hödlmayr.
