Incident reporting: improving drivers’ safety in vehicle logistics

ECG — 2022-12-13

News from ECG

ECG is pleased to announce that the online Incident Reporting website was re-launched in October 2022 and is fully accessible for all users. Both ECG members and non-member companies can now create a new account and upload severe incidents and near misses for 2021 & 2022*.

The Health & Safety Working Group (H&S WG) established incident reporting website to gather information on severe accidents and near-misses happening in finished vehicle logistics (FVL) during loading and unloading operations. The aim is to create database of accidents which can be analysed and used to share insightful information contributing to a safer industry.

Thanks to the support of our members, every year ECG is publishing yearly reports ‘Making the industry safer – Reducing accidents in FVL’ that contain useful recommendations on how to prevent severe accidents and improve drivers’ safety. The yearly reports for 2019 and 2020 are published on our website. ECG is planning to publish reports for 2021 and 2022 in Q1 2023.

Every input is fundamental. We would like to encourage our members to report on incidents for 2021 & 2022.

ECG and the H&S WG would like to thank our member Avtologistika who developed and supported with maintenance of the previous version of the website.

*All incidents reported are strictly confidential and anonymised for analysis purposes. Only ECG has fully access to all information.
