The latest Maritime & Ports Working Group Meeting took place on 2023 March 14/15 in Vigo, kindly sponsored by the Port of Vigo, Termicar and ECG Members Bergé, Suardiaz and UECC.

Participants had the opportunity to network in an informal environment during the dinner on 2023 March 14. The meeting took place on 2023 March 15 with a very engaging agenda and excellent speakers.

More than 50 attendees joined for the meeting and the tour of the Port of Vigo including Suardiaz and Termicar facilities. The Chairman of the Working Group, Oliver Fuhljahn, opened the meeting and welcomed everyone after which the sponsors gave a presentation and an overview of their activities. The meeting was very productive and participants engaged in an interactive discussion on many topics that were raised during the round table discussion including the Ukraine crisis, congestion issues and the ongoing capacity crisis.

Mike Sturgeon, ECG Executive Director, presented an update of a Briefing paper on capacity crisis and gave an overview of ECG 2023 strategic objectives. These objectives include the publication of the first FVL cost index, emissions reporting standardisation and revision of the FVL forecast methodology. The update also concerned other active Working Groups, the ECG General Assembly & Spring Congress and other future events along with the ECG Academy.

The next meeting will be organised on 2023 June 28/29 in Bristol hosted by the Bristol Port. All details will be available on our website. For more information on this group contact Jovana Vancevska.
