ECG’s annual event, held in Baveno, Italy, broke another attendance record with almost 300 leaders from the sector coming together and electing a new board and Vice-President.

ECG - The Association of European Vehicle Logistics – saw a record-breaking attendance at its annual General Assembly & Spring Congress in Baveno, Italy with almost 300 members, partners, and top-level representatives of the Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) sector coming together to celebrate an astonishing period of growth.

This year's congress confirmed a remarkable willingness to collaborate on key areas such as standard reporting of CO2 emissions, technological development, and operational efficiencies as major clients including Auto1, Ford, Renault Group, Toyota Motor Europe and Volkswagen Konzernlogistik joined the association’s members.

"The willingness to collaborate across the industry, on areas that will deliver efficiencies and improvements for all, is more evident than ever before.” said Wolfgang Göbel, President of ECG, “This bodes extremely well for the future of our sector.”

During the General Assembly, Bjorn Svenningsen of United European Car Carriers (UECC), who had served as ECG Vice-President since 2018, stepped down and Mark Hindley of BCA Automotive was elected as the incoming Vice-President. Hindley, who brings a wealth of experience and a forward-thinking approach, is expected to play a pivotal role in steering the organisation towards its strategic goals. Meanwhile the President, Wolfgang Göbel of Mosolf SE & Co. KG, received a new mandate for a further two-year term.

ECG also welcomed new board members Johannes Alexander Hödlmayr of Hödlmayr International GmbH and Jørgen Lindgaard of UECC, further strengthening the Board with diverse expertise and innovative perspectives, while 10 other board members were re-elected.

This new team will lead the industry association at a time of unprecedented growth, some 30% in the last year alone. ECG continues to be at the forefront of the FVL sector, championing initiatives that foster co-operation, standardisation and improved efficiency at a time when the automotive sector is experiencing rapid change and development.
